Resolution 2165 (Syria) S/RES/2165

On 14 July 2014 the UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2165 on the situation in Syria. Resolution 2165 authorizes the UN to deliver cross-border humanitarian aid through Jordan, Turkey and Iraq without the consent of the Syrian government, and establishes a monitoring mechanism to monitor implementation. The resolution also reaffirms the primary responsibility of the Syrian authorities to protect the population.
