Resolution
On 22 March the UN Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 40/19 on South Sudan. The resolution renewed the mandate of the Commission on Human Rights in South Sudan, recalling that “the Government of South Sudan has the responsibility to protect all of its population in the country from genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.” The resolution was adopted without a vote.
