Resolution 25/23 (Syria) A/HRC/RES/25/23

On 28 March 2014 the UN Human Rights Council adopted Resolution 25/23 on the situation in Syria. Resolution 25/23 extends the mandate of the Commission of Inquiry for one year, demands that the Syrian authorities meet their responsibility to protect its population and condemns continued violations of international humanitarian and human rights law by the Syrian government and affiliated forces that may amount to war crimes or crimes against humanity. The resolution was passed by a vote of 32 for, 4 against, and 11 abstentions.
